oh yeah, the Fair
Laborday weekend Brain and I went to the MN State Fair. We had a good time, but it isn’t as fun as I remember it being. Maybe I am just too old now. Maybe I just was just too concerned about doing things on the cheap. I didn’t even try any of the midway games. The only game Brian and I played was “spot the horses” in response to Mary’s inability to see any on her trip to the fair this year. Here is our evidence:

Yeah so after seeing all these horses Brian and I were pretty tired. Luckily we found a free bench. Thank goodness for the Anderson family’s generosity! Melby be sure to thank your folks for us!

All in all we had a good time. The art in the fine art building was great. I also enjoyed seeing the crafts in the craft building, and the science experiments in the 4-H building. After five hours of almost continual walking, both of us called it a day and headed on home.

It’s not that I haven’t seen any horses at the last two fairs, it’s that I saw far fewer that one would expect at such an event!
I only saw about eight horses, which is how many you have photographed here. Are you trying to gaslight me??
By the end of this year’s trip it had become a running joke, with Wes and me talking about how it was that they were managing to get by with so few equines. At one point a couple of horses (policehorses?) were coming our way and I said “oh, here come two of the eight on-site horses,” and Wes replied, “Actually that’s the same horse twice.” (And that’s when I knew it was time to take a break from time-travel-related sci fi….)

I saw a horsey! Actually, Ben took far fewer pictures of horses than he might have. I also suggested he take pictures of all horse-related things, and of any representations of horses, but there were so many that it would’ve ended up being ridiculous. They were freaking everywhere! My favorites were the ones with glitter on their butts (seen in the 3rd picture).
